Look who's coming to Toronto. After a year of absence, Rasho Nesterovic is back home. He agreed to take the 1.9 mln dollars to fill in the position in our thin frontcourt. Seems, that Bryan Colangelo is fixing the mistake of Jermaine O'Neal trade on every front.
About a year ago Rasho Nesterovic was sent to Indiana Pacers along with TJ Ford in exchange of Jermaine O'Neal. The trade was supposed to push us deeper in the playoffs. It pushed us out of playoffs. And while Bryan Colangelo didn't do a public confession with Mea Culpa, he worked out the reversal of this trade. We lost TJ, but we snapped another point guard from Indiana. Rasho went away, but he came back after a year. Jermaine O'Neal... he hasn't been here for a while.
Good to see all the puzzles coming back in place. The Toronto jigsaw is nearly solved, aside one piece: a backup small forward. The vacant place might be occupied by Carlos Delfino in the near future. Might be, if he agrees to lower his asking price from 5 mln to 4. Providing the fact, that his previous employer didn't deliver the paycheck on time and Carlos likes it here, the odds are rather good. I would rather go for Linas Kleiza, but maybe the magic will work better with Delfino? We shall see.
The news are rather slow this time of the year. LeBron admits he was a jerk in the high school [was?!?]. Stephon Marbury goes for a 24 hours Ustream, and makes it oddly entertaining. Andre Miller signs with Portland, and Miller isn't kidnapped by another team before putting the pen to paper. Good job, Blazers! Or maybe not? I still don't see how he fits there. The mysterious tape of even more mysterious dunk gets returned to the media. You didn't keep your breath? Really? Actually, me neither.
Non basketball related, but Doc Halladay is going to be traded. I would mourn for this more, but I am too much excited about the Raptors. And Jays GM is channeling his inner Rob Babcock self. Luckily, for basketball fans the ghost of Babcock is inhabiting Jays now. Sad, but true - Toronto can't have more than one relevant team. It stinks like the garbage strike.
